Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5: Chapter 5: Verse 3
God gave me a mission.
A mission to be the voice of the homeless that I meet while being homeless myself.
A mission to be the voice of the homeless that I meet while being homeless myself.
My Story
Who am I? That's something I have trouble defining. I am a mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister.
But, I am so much more.
- I have chased love for years only to be disappointed -- was married twice.
- I suffer from mental illness -- Manic Depression with suicidal tendencies.
- I have worked many jobs in my life -- the majority of which I quit after my anxiety and depression reared its ugly head.
- I have went to college and quit this, as well.
- Now, I am homeless. However, I do not see this as a negative.
On August 15, 2016, I was leaving the mental hospital again after another suicidal incident. This time, I had nowhere to go. My family can only take so much and truly I don't blame them.
God was ready to step in. The hospital brought me to The New Orleans Mission. Here I rediscovered Him and His Glory.
Yes, I had to lose everything to find Jesus.
I always wanted to help others. I just had no idea how. God blessed me with many signs that not only showed me His Love but My Purpose -- to help his children that others look down on and\or ignore.
My Purpose
Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I not; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. The Acts: Chapter 3: Verse 6
This sight is my way of answering his call. Here, I will help those that are lame in life’s journey to walk by:
- Showcasing stories of those which are homeless.
- Sharing insights and advice for those in need.
- Linking to various sights that help the homeless.
